We, Maria & Ibrahim, met as dancers in New York City, both searching for a place where our voices and creativity could live freely. When the traditional path didn’t fit, we built our own — first through simple YouTube tutorials, then through a bold challenge: choreographing and dancing 365 ballets in 365 days.
Those early works, under the name Ballet Popular, taught us discipline, storytelling, and how to turn limitations into imagination.
Soon, we began pushing beyond the studio, from carrying green screens to building props and costumes, creating new worlds with nothing but movement, a camera, and determination.
BTS of making 365 choreographies for YouTube - setting up green screen, dancing, shooting, editing for a full year!
That curiosity led us to make Calico, our first dance feature film - based on a true Pirate Story - which we shot around the world with no roadmap except passion and trial by fire.
Through that process, we realized what we were truly becoming:
filmmakers who carry dance in our bones.
CineDance Studios was born from that evolution — a space where cinema and movement meet.
Today, we work across film sets in New York, growing alongside ambitious artists of the film world and creating our own work.
